Sifnos

In the western Cyclades between Serifos, Kimolos and Paros.

Sifnos is a triangular-shaped island, with a surface area of 74 square kilometres, a coastal perimeter of 70 kms and a population of about 2,000 inhabitants.
Main town: Apollonia - Main port: Kamares.

The island of Sifnos has not really yet been affected by mass tourism and has a reputation for its weaving and pottery workshops.
Local clay has given rise to a high-quality craft industry. The potters, who in the past often left the island to find work in Athens, now hold a very important place on the island. There are more and more workshops and women from the country still use ceramic kitchen utensils to prepare the meals.
The island stand out for its villages, which are characterized by the simple pure forms of its island architecture, the beauty of its landscapes and its numerous monasteries. Very arid massifs and steep cliffs to the west contrast with the fertile little valleys and the countryside covered with hundred-year-old olive trees, almond trees, fig trees and terraced cultivation in the south-east. Its indented coastline shelters numerous creeks and very beautiful beaches of fine sand. A true paradise.

A many-faceted island, Sifnos allows you to combine hikes, pleasurable visits, nature discoveries, joys of the beach and lazing about, all in an authentic Cyclades atmosphere.
