Serifos

The island of Serifos is mainly
frequented by Greek families.
Its tourist infrastructure is mainly concentrated at the main port of
Livadi and in nearby Livadakia.
It is advisable to reserve beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Livadi
Main
port, situated in the south-east of the island, at the far end of a
deep bay bordered by a beautiful beach of fine sand two kilometres
long.
Sheltered from the winds, it offers nothing of particular interest
except that it is pleasant and relaxing with its taverns on the
beach, in green surroundings, where the landscape is a mixture of
reed bushes, vegetable gardens and tamarisk trees.
Tourism has made it a lively place where
hotels, restaurants, cafes, discotheques and a host of
other
establishments can be found.
In the morning, fishermen sell their fish directly on the docks,
while the donkeys laden with their baskets full of provisions wait
for their masters under the shade of tamarisk trees.
It is also the departure point for most hikes.
Public services: bank-bus.
Livadakia
Situated 800 metres along the extension to the port,
Livadakia opens out into flowered surroundings which contrast
with the arid mountains rising up in the background.
A quiet and pleasant holiday resort, it has a beautiful sandy beach
bordered with tamarisk trees and sheltered from the winds. Its
dwellings are mostly situated on the slopes of the mountains and
enjoy good views over the bay. The beach is very busy in the summer.
The place is ideal for family holidays.
