Paros

In the Central Cyclades, between Naxos, Antiparos and Sifnos.

Paros is an oval-shaped island which has a surface area of 195 square kilometres, a coastal perimeter of 120 km and a population of 10,000 inhabitants
Main town and port: Parikia.

The third largest island in the archipelago after Naxos and Andros, the island of Paros owes its celebrity to its white marble which was used to sculpt, amongst other works of art, the famous "Venus de Milo", which is today housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Due to its central position, Paros is the hub of life in the Cyclades. You will inevitably go through there at some point in your stay, along with the thousands of tourists coming from the far reaches of the globe.
It is distinguished from the other islands by the gentleness of its landscapes. The hills slope gently downwards towards the sea and open out on three sides of the island, onto vast plains flowing with springs. You will see many valleys planted with vineyards, orange trees, lemon trees and olive trees.

Its villages have retained their authentic character. The lime-bleached houses with their stone staircases set down along the narrow lanes, their picturesque fishing ports, the monasteries up in the hills removed from the coast, the gold sandy beaches, and numerous creeks scattered along the coast, make it one of the most pleasant of the Greek islands.

In Paros, everyone will find something to enjoy. The island has all the makings for an unforgettable holiday: nautical sports, especially windsurfing, deep-sea diving, horseback riding along the beaches, walking hikes, mini cruises among the neighbouring islands : Antiparos, Delos, Mykonos, Naxos, Santorini, and Tinos, and an exciting nightlife at Parikia and Naoussa.

by plane: the island of Paros is linked to Athens by a well-served air connection. Olympic Airways flies 6 times a day during the season. There are 2 to 3 flights the rest of the time. The flight takes 35 minutes. The Paros airport is 9 kms from Parikia.

by ferry-boat and high-speed ferry: several connections a day depending on the season, leaving from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina and also from the islands of Naxos, Santorini and Ios.
