Kimolos

The choice of accommodation is quite limited.
For greater convenience, we suggest you to stay in the vicinity of Psathi or Chorio.
There is a minibus shuttle service between Psathi and
Chorio. During the summer season it serves several beaches.
There is no bank at Kimolos, but a service station has been
up and running since last year. Those who wish to have motorized
transport must go to the island of Milos.

Psathi
The
port of Psathi is built in the form of an amphitheatre around
the bay and is well protected from the prevailing winds by hills
where houses have been built sloping down its sides.
It is just a twenty-minute walk from Chorio, so close that
its houses almost touch the village. The inhabitants of the island
regard Psathi as the "lower neighbourhood" of Chorio.
Psathi is a very peaceful and unpretentious fishing port. It
is a welcoming place, with its taverns lining the length of its
beautiful sandy beach, bordered by tamarisk trees, boat garages and
white painted houses.

Chorio
Chorio
is a pleasant village whose architecture is amongst the most
picturesque found anywhere in the Cyclades.
It is made up of two distinct districts which developed at different
periods around the "Kastro". It is characterized by twisting
lanes, covered passageways, low white-washed or stone houses graced
with small flowered courtyards, and interesting churches dispersed
here and there, most dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. All
roads lead to the "campo", the main
triangular-shaped square with churches on each side and a beautiful
arcaded edifice. Businesses are traditional and are so discrete they
can hardly be seen.
A few family-run cafes and taverns are found around the four corners
of the village. They are the only places of entertainment in this
quiet little village.
