Antiparos

We suggest you to stay in the port of Antiparos for those looking for things to do, and
nearby at the seafront at Glyfa and further south in
Manganies and Agios Giorgos for those who prefer a quiet
and more relaxing holiday.
Port of Antiparos
A pleasant place with its narrow lanes bordered by
houses with their little flowered courtyards, the port of
Antiparos has beaches on both sides. During the day the place
gives off a peaceful sense of eternal Greece.
Situated in the north of the island, just about in the middle of the
narrowest part, on land that is virtually flat (at an altitude of 10
metres), the village opens out onto the port lined with taverns and
cafes where you can sip ouzo and nibble on mezzes. You can take your
time and enjoy the sight of ferries sailing to and from the nearby
island of Paros.
The main shopping street leaves the port, crosses the village and
leads to Agios Nicolaos Square near the Kastro
district.
The village developed around this district and eventually grew into
a multitude of alleys - a true maze where it is delightful to get
lost.
A tourist infrastructure exists and a number of commercial
operations have become established.
Public services: bank, post office, doctor's surgery, bus.
Boat excursions around the island with a picnic on board and the
opportunity of swimming in the secluded creeks along the coastline.
Very pleasant.
Around the port of Antiparos are
three beaches - Sifnaiko,
Agios Spiridon and Psaraliki.
Panagia
Panagia is located on the way out of the village,
1km away from the port of Antiparos. There is a
quiet beach with several little coves. This area is ideal
for peaceful holidays far away from the noise.
 Glyfa
A beautiful sandy beach 6 kms to the south of the
port located in a rural setting. There are a number of creeks in the
vicinity. A lovely view over the island of Paros. Fairly wild
scenery. Ideal for family holidays.
Agios
Giorgos
On the south coast of
the island facing the islet of Despotico, Agios Giorgos
is well sheltered from the wind and is possibly one of the
most pleasant areas on the island. The landscape is serene,
the surrounding hills being furrowed by small lanes which for the
most part run parallel. Despite some development,
Agios Giorgos has not lost its charm and
the views have
remained almost unchanged.
Along
the sea front, you will find some hotels and apartments for rent and
also some lovely holiday villas which have been built by Athenians.
On the edge of the sea are two very
pleasant traditional tavernas, both of which serve freshly caught
fish. A little further away at the edge of a small sandy inlet is a
'picture postcard' scene - a small chapel behind which are several
colourful fishing boats. You will find many sandy coves. There is
also a kayak club.
